Re-release?

Originally Monster Factory was planned for three levels, a handful of upgrades/abilities, and a more or less what it is now. With the time we had we couldn't hit all our targets, but the plan was made after it was pushed into the hands of the public to make it the original game that was planned. All three levels and at least 4 abilities.

The decision to finish the game to it's original idea was made after a few weeks of play testing. The game is fun, original and has a pretty broad appeal, and it doesn't require a lot of skills to play. Unlike most gamejam formats where whatever you have after two weeks is what you deliver, our deadline was a soft deadline. So all that's left is to balance what is currently available, and flesh out more content. Then we go to more publishers.

We'll make 5 free games that will just be available to the public, while Monster Factory will become part of our lower tier patreon memberships. Higher tiers will get free access to our paid games, and top tier will offer access to behind the scenes. Watch me program mechanics, talk about game design, our touch base with our artist and learn his technique and style. More details to come regarding that, although our patreon is available now if you want to help. We would really appreciate the help!

Itch has been a good first platform, a library of free and easy games. As I mentioned getting your game in front of as many faces as possible is valuable and a good return on investment. Games shouldn't be about making monster profits, personally we are happy to see others play the games we create, and share in our passion. The aspect of profit in our opinion is just to enable us to continue exploring new ideas with games. Taking chances and risks that bigger companies wouldn't dare, and surrounding ourselves with talented people who can support those ideas.

Monster factory was a good first experience, and we'll continue to update it as we go.
